Hello there Warlock Brawl community!
The name's Stefan and I'm writing to you on the behalf of Frogsong Studios - a jolly bunch of five developers. I am designer and producer in the team and we thought it was about time we contacted you guys and made ourselves known.
We are creating a very much Warlock inspired game called Spellsworn in the Unreal Engine 4. We took the first steps of development in late april last year and now we have a public limited company (Frogsong Studios AB) at which we spend most of our days working full-time with the game.

Now I know most of you hardcore Warlock players are going to miss a couple of things like Items, Passive Upgrades and a whole bunch of spells you all know and love. I want to explain to you why they are not there, and the answer is not that we didn't like them and cut them out of the design, it's a very different reason. Due to the complexity of the gameplay design behind Warlock and the amount of gameplay components we decided not to try and develop them all at the same time. We started out the development of the game with the mindset to try and find the pure core of Warlock which is pretty much about one thing - having fun while casting a ton of spells.
That said, we have been focusing solely on the arsenal of spells and the deep down mechanics to get the feel right and have the game fun with 'just the bare bones'.
We are still not sure whether we are going to include all of the elements that are present in Warlock but we are sure about one thing - we will let the game grow organically and be very careful about adding new elements to prevent cluttering and keep it clean. While Warlock have proven to work in one way with all it's component it doesn't mean that we can translate it right of the bat without possible issues.
Here's some art we hope you'd like:
If anyone of you would like to play our game and give us your opinion, just post here, send a PM or mail to: contact@frogsong-studios.com
It doesn't matter what timezone you're in, we'll make sure to stay awake and play with you! :)
Lastly, I want to give my most humble regards to Zymoran, Adynathos/Demestotenes, sides and all other who have been involved in the making of Warlock Brawl and its community. I have not been following the development nor the community for the latest years but I was active in the WarCraft 3 modding scene (mostly lurking) and I have always looked up towards you. You and others at the Hive Workshop have been my guiding stars as I have pushed myself to where I am now. I was at Nordic Game Conference last year and name-dropped Warlock, most of the times I mentioned it they knew about it, I thought maybe you'd be happy to know that you made an impact on the game industry on the other side of the world!
To this day I am still amazed how you made a community solely dedicated to a mod in WarCraft 3 survive this long, it must be closing in on ten years now. When our game makes it to the finish line, be sure to find yourself in the Credits! ;)
If anyone of you have thoughts about the game, please share with us! We will listen closely. Also, feel free to add me anywhere!
Thank you a lot for reading this post!
